The Wire...

Wow, long time no post. Guess I haven't painted in a while. Too bad for you. At least I got some new stuff now. So I finally finished the uni in a bottle painting. I'm guessing you don't know what that is cuz I didn't tell you about it before, but oh well. Here it is:

Also, because I'm super productive like that, I started a new painting already. It's just the rough sketch though. Most of my paintings actually start like this. Lucky you, you're getting a sneak peak at the internals of how I work. This is called Sketch and reload after all. Know it doesn't look like much yet, but hopefully it will go somewhere cool. Also, I have progression pics of the uni in a bottle painting, I'll post those when I gets a chance too. Good thing I just happen to know so many pretty ladies that I'm able to stay inspired. Lucky me eh?

Oh, and they closed down Loco. Now I'm working for John Romero's company as a graphics programmer. You better act like you know son.

Koi Yang...

I did this piece for a friend to use on an invitation. I'm calling it "Koi Yang." I need to cut out some of the bg to make it look circular, but you get the idea. this was almost a speed paint at about an hour for the base and then a half hour or so this morning touching up the details... Apparently I'm pretty good at painting fish.

So, I'm a little further along on "Think Fish" Not much to say really. From your perspective, this looks like more than a little further along, it's been a while since I updated. I guess right now I'm at about three sittings in. I'll try to work on it this weekend, but we'll see how it goes. So far, I like the pace that I'm working at. Most of the base work is done, so it's mostly detail from here, we'll see how it goes.

So, I was just thinking, is all innuendo inherently sexual, or are there other types of innuendo to choose from. How about fiscal innuendo? Political innuendo maybe? Statistical innuendo? Is that like when you "80085" on your calculator so that it says "boobs"? Wait, I guess that's sexual innuendo again. Blast, I'll have to give it more thought.

Sham Wowed

I want a Sham Wow. I don't know what I'd use it for, but that's freakin' amazing. Where does all the liquid go? Worm holes?

Think Fish

Quick update. I'm working on a painting now called "Think Fish."

It was inspired by some sick art by a friend I met on the internets. What Can I say, she has good tastes. Apparently the waiting list for getting a painting from me has noting to do with favorites and everything to do with manipulating my short attention span. That said, the style I'm shooting for is something like:

Yeah, I know, she's not wearing pants. It's cool, she's with me. Anyway, this pic is one of my favs from artist audrey kawasaki. Very cool stuff, click it, see it, love it. I'm trying to get this one done quick so I have time to actually play the copy of GTA IV I bought the other day. What can I say, guns, drugs, and sex. You know how us programmers live.
