Sword Chick Art Update...

Quick update, I liked the progress on this pick enough to show it off again. Please refrence the earlier post for comparison as well as the even earlier post for the sketch. In general thoug, I worked on refining the arms, detailing the hair, and making the stomach a little softer. Not bad thus far, but this taking a bit of time as I play around with learning the technique.

I'm Not That Kind of Whore...

I just wanted to clarify in case anyone was still confused. I'm more of a one woman type, that would be if I could find women. I mean, seriously universe, is that too much to ask. With all the guys out there running game on countless women, I can't just find one interesting chick. Eh, I guess unrequited love is just as fun, I could stick with that (and by "fun" I mean 12 day, 101 hour work week "fun", not let's go to Disney Land "fun"). I am having fun right?

Ok, so now we play a game called let's screw with the google adsense. Last time it posted ads for happines. Once again, I don't think google is paying attention. Anyway, I love Smurfs. Don't you love Smurfs? Everyone loves Smurfs. Who's you're favorite Smurf? My favorite Smurfis papa Smurf. Sure, they can't say he's a pimp on the show, but we know. Yup, Smurfitty Smurfin' Smurf Smurf. Take that adsense. On a wierd side note, did anyone else notice that Gargamel's cat's name with Azrael, and that Azrael (or Izrail, Azrail, Ashriel, Azaril, and Azriel ) is the angel of death in the Qur'an and, according to Wikipedia.com translates as "whom God helps." Fascinating. Oh my god, is that art?!?

No description really, but I like it. I did a couple of supporting sketches for this drawing, maybe I'll post them just so you can see how I work. Btw, he's jumping off a cliff, that may not be apparent. It's okay though, he's being chased by a balrog, so jumping off a cliff really isn't that bad of an option.



Finally, in other, far less interesting news, I tried my hand at cooking Thai tonight by making Pad Thai. Gotta' say, despite using the wrong kind of rice noodle (I have the thinner rice sticks compared to the wider pad tha noodle) I did a pretty good job. It actually had a failry authentic taste, mainly due to the use of fish sauce, which also makes me happy that I finally found another use for fish sauce. Take that Thai food. Orion - 1, Thai Food - 0. *Thai Food skulks away defeated*. Wow, he's single and he cooks. Ladies, what more could you ask for? ... What, all of that? Damn, that's a lot. Well, what can I get for what I have? Why you gotta' be like that, that was uncalled for? I'm not even talking to you anymore.

So, I finally figured out a solution to my blog layout problems. I leveraged the fact that my blog is being hosted on my webspace, and that I have php, so that the blog appears one way on my website and another way standalone. A small victory for me. Yeah.

So, I think I'm a whore. Not that kind, you're so willing to assume the worst. No, I think I'm an iTunes whore. I don't know if I am, but I just spent $20 messing around with it an hour ago. Am I whore yet. What if I'm not supposed to be spending money, and I just bought $40 earbuds (which are freakin' badass, earbuds with bass OMG). Ok, so Im a whore and I'm bad with money, so sue me (... damnit, I thought we went over this before. No sueing me I'm broke. Not like you'd ever see that money anyway), but I digress. My point is that,after years of looking, I finally found it. I found "Don't Cry, Dry Your Eyes", as it is apparently called. It's an obscure Fugees song. Seriously, you don't know what this mean to me. I heard this song way back in '97 and I taped it (like on a cassette). Eventually cassettes went the way of the laser disc, which went the way of the record, which went the way of the eight track, which went the way of the player piano, ect. (look it up). So my one copy of this song disappeared, and I never heard it again. Several times I attempted to purchase/download this song, but I couldn't even find proof of its existence, let alone obtain it. Tonight, I found it by accident. Apparently it was on some Fugees mix tape, which is why I couldn't find it. Upon listening to this song, I was instantly transported back to highschool (probably sophomore year). I can't say that I was exactly "happy" in highschool, but for a $0.99, I am completly willing to visit for 4 minutes and 14 seconds. So yeah, I'm sure it won't mean as much to you as it does to me, but check it out. As an added bonus, if you listen to the song, you can look at the picture below. If you didn't find the song, then no looking. If for some reason you already looked, then for shame.

I showed you this pic not too long ago, but I started painting it. I'm taking my time with this one, so I'm not very far yet, but here's what I have so far. I'm trying a number of new techniques out on this one, which are yielding some positive results. This figure has a lot of depth, which is pretty cool. hopefully I have the patience to finish it.

Basically, I drew this pic way back in highschool, then I redrew it recently. Needless to say, I like the newer one better. Don't you agree? I started painting it, but, to be honest, I've started painting like 4 paintings, so I don't know when I'll finish it. Oh well.
